BeastPants Deck Review

Having eagerly stared at many beautiful BeastPants decks since they appeared on the scene, I was soo happy to be told one was on its way to me for a review. How does it rack up? Well, read on, but not before checking out some pictures of it set up with BRT wides, Grand Wheels, and Ace3 tape.

Shipping took a week US -> UK, which is slightly above average. It all arrived in perfect condition and was packaged nicely. 10/10

First impressions
well.. it's hard not to be blown away by how nice a split that is. Not to mention everything else looking amazing about the deck, but the split was a surprise and seeing a fingersized + unite tribute in a split, it's easily one of the nicest decks I've ever looked at in my life. I couldn't be more stoked on it, especially as it looked seriously fun to ride too. 10/10

Craftsmanship
on this deck is flawless. The splits are obviously a big thing and I cant see an part that isn't made perfectly, even with some crazy intricate designs and cuts made to make this look how it does. But the rest of the deck is pressed perfectly, evenly, and rounded just as it should be throughout. Plus perfect holes to top it off. 10/10

Performance
of this deck is pretty awesome. It's a crisp, poppy, and flowy deck that is a ton of fun to use, but with a very mellow shape. At least as mellow if not mellower than a new mold Weca deck, it did take quite a while to get used to and even then as with any deck, there are tricks that are harder on it. Just like concave helps with certain tricks but makes catching harder, this took a lot more effort for things like tres and nollie heels. Weirdly also I found I had to change my finger position for kickflips, but eventually got used to doing that and didn't have any trouble after that. Regardless of its shape it's a solid deck as I said, and hasn't really shown any signs of wear over all the time I've used it, which is impressive too. 9/10

Overall
this deck is great. The kind of deck that you'll have to put effort into, but once you have it'll be worth it and you wont want to go back to anything else. I love the shaping, amazing splits, great craftsmanship, and solid feel to this board, but personally wish it was a bit less mellow. It's not TOO mellow, and you'll definitely get used to it after say, a week of using it constantly - just don't expect to set it up and be doing everything as effortlessly as you'd do on your main board if you're used to medium kicks. I stress that it's well worth the effort, and you can seriously appreciate how much time, effort, and dedication (not only to fingerboarding but to art) goes into these boards; BUT you'll have to put the time in. A solid main setup, if you're willing to give it a little bit of time. 9.25/10

Deep Forest Cruiser Review

This review has taken overall a LOT longer than I initially hoped it would, but hey, it's finally done! Want to know how this really interesting cruiser stacks up? Read on, but not before some pictures: I set this board up with BRT Wides, Grand Wheels, and TKY bushings.

Shipping took like a week, average time from the US to the UK. All arrived in perfect condition with no problems what so ever. 10/10

First impressions
I was really interested to see how this shape would stack up, as it's not like anything I've seen. The concave did look a little weird, but other than that I was overall impressed and intrigued. 9/10

Craftsmanship
on this deck isn't bad, however the mold used lets it down. It looks like one of those cheap molds you can get on ebay, as the concave is literally just to angled edges to the deck rather than a smooth curve, and the kicks are quite high. The split, the rounding, the shaping, and everything like that is overall good - including some nicely drilled holes that made for an effortless setup - but this shape lets it down. 8/10

Performance
of this deck is unfortunately also plagued by this shape. Don't get me wrong, it's a really fun deck to use, especially in mini ramps you can just cruise about and still get all your tricks. With a bit of effort you can get street tricks on it, but the tail is simply too short for how steep it is and makes popping even ollies difficult. A more mellow shape would totally remove that problem, so it's a shame that it's there, but unfortunately it is. The lacquer could also be improved a bit too as it did scratch off a tad easier than most, but it's not really soo much of an issue. 7/10

Overall
I do really like this deck. It might suck for street, but it's not trying to be a street deck, so I suppose it's a little harsh to judge it as one. The small and fun shape of this board is great for transition - much as it's a shame how much better this would be with a more mellow mold, it's still a nice little board. Will it replace your main? No. Is it perfect? No. Is it fun to cruise about on? Hell yes. It does its job! 8/10

Common Conviction Deck Review

This review took ages to get done unfortunately, but nonetheless, it's finished now! Want to see how one of the craziest split ply decks I've ever seen stacks up in a review? Read on.. First though, some pictures, I set this up with BRT Wides, Grand Wheels, and China tape.

Shipping was average really, a week ish from Singapore to England, which is what most international packages take coming into the UK. Arrived in perfect condition too. 10/10

First impressions
I was blown away by the craftsmanship on this, especially the split. 8 bit UK flag with some gorgeous burl woods, the level of detail on this is insane and I cant see a single piece of wood out of shape. Mindblowing how much time must have gone into that, not to mention the rest of the deck being perfectly pressed/rounded too. 10/10

Craftsmanship
as I've already said is pretty insane, but to further on points other than the split this deck is flawlessly crafted. Evenly pressed throughout to a nice crisp finish, rounding is 100% perfect in terms of the kicks and the edges, and all the holes and countersinks are prefect making for a effortless setup. Nothing negative to say here. 10/10

Performance
of this deck is really nice, if I had to instantly compare it to anything it really reminds me of a Weca deck, just more defined. Deeper concave and higher kicks than the very mellow Weca decks, but otherwise a similar feel to it. I'm sure that's not intentional copying or anything like that, just a coincidence, and a nice one as Weca decks are some of my favourites out there. This deck is snappy, crisp, has some nice control - although I personally found the concave a bit too much for the feel of the rest of the deck. More concave can work well on a deck, but I feel on this deck shape (i.e. kick shape, etc) it makes for some very defined dips that felt slightly obtrusive to the otherwise flowy feel the rest of the board has. Not that it wasn't easy to use, just I think with a slightly lower concave this would have made my catches and consistency even better. 9.25/10

Overall
this deck is great. Brilliantly made, not showing any real wear after tons of use, and amazing split ply detail to top it off. Perhaps a change in template would make this concave work better, or lowering the concave - but for those of you who don't like such mellow decks I'm sure you'll find no problem with this - as even I managed to get used to it after a day or so. For everything these decks do right, the little downsides seem just that, little, and thus well worth looking past. 9.75/10

Stoned Obstacle Review

I know this review took me AGES to get around to doing, so a huge apology to Stoned for that. Better late than never? I really hope so! Nonetheless here are some pictures of this amazing obstacle, with my board in one for size comparison.

Shipping took ages, but not to the fault of Stoned as the postal companies kept changing their mind about where it was and hid it for a month.. Still, gotta loose at a small amount because of dispatch time. 9/10

First impressions
I was absolutely mindblown by how nice a ramp this is and how amazing it looked. Also completely blown away by it being a hollow ramp with a layer of concrete on top? Crazy, I've never seen anything like it in fingerboarding and it's a really cool idea. Not to mention all the nice artwork too? Amazing. 10/10

Craftsmanship
of this ramp is really nice, but does have a slight issue. Whilst it's super solid and really nicely made for the main bit of the ramp, there's a tiny bit of wobble on the wooden section. Not loads, but if you push on it it can slightly move. I dunno if it got damanged in transit or if that's an issue with all of these, but it's only minor and not really a problem whilst seshing it. The rest of the ramp as I said is perfect though, a super smooth layer of concrete makes this rock solid and buttery. 9/10

Performance
of this is soo good, honestly one of the most fun and organic feeling ramps I've ever ridden. The concrete isn't the as smooth as marble/wood, but honestly it's a good thing as you can feel your tricks more, and get to put even more personality into them rather than just gliding over every trick. It's a shame that on the same note the weighting of this is off, and sometimes tricks on the wooden bit cause it to fall over. A bit of tape can easily solve that, but it's a shame that it's there in the first place. Nonetheless otherwise this thing grinds soo nicely, and as well as feeling super realistic it's also not mega damaging to boards? Pretty much a win win. As you can imagine, the wood is super buttery, and not only makes this open to amazing combos but makes a nice variation of surfaces on one ramp. Cant argue with that! My only other real issue is that I feel it's a bit big, and wish there was a scaled down version of this ramp, at least in height. 9/10

Overall
it's a shame that the wood section of this has a few issues, but being how little they really hinder this ramp, and how innovative, fun, and realistic this thing is to ride I find myself not really caring. Sure it's not perfect, but this is the kind of ramp you can sesh for hours and not get bored on, even though it's relatively simple. Plus the creative layer of concrete over wood grinds gorgeously, AND makes it lightweight and able to ship worldwide without crazy shipping prices, so that's a big plus for all the people over the world who will be after these. Definitely something to get stoked on when they drop, for the few flaws it has you'll have soo much fun on it you wont care. 9/10

Pure New Shape Deck Review

The new shape of Pure decks is amazing, and something I've been absolutely loving in my time reviewing it recently. I couldn't keep my thoughts a secret any longer though, so here's my review! Pictures first, I set this up with BRT wides, Grand Wheels, and China tape.

Shipping took like a week US-UK, and it all came wrapped up nicely. As you'd expect these days really. 10/10

First impressions
, I was blown away by not only how nice the deck looked in the shape, but how nice the bottom ply was, it's such a simple yet gorgeous colour. Couldn't see any other issues with it too, everything looked spot on. I got sent two decks as one is a sponsor prize for Crossed Fingers, and I could see the two decks were amazingly consistent and identical except in colour. Cant argue with that. 10/10

Craftsmanship
on this deck is literally perfect. Perfect shape, pressed consistently throughout, rounded and edged perfectly, and with 100% accurate and aligned holes and countersinks - then all topped off with a gorgeous coat of lacquer. My only issue that I guess is 'craftsmanship' (for lack of it fitting anywhere else) is that there was no stamp/directional marker on the top of the deck to help you know which is the nose, as it took a bit of staring to work out. That's not really an issue that couldn't be fixed in 5 seconds though. 9.75/10

Performance
of this deck is mindblowing, I knew the old Pure decks were nice, and knew these had gone a step up from that, but this? Easily one of the best decks I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot of decks. It was perfect for me, a great shape with a really responsive feel to it, and pretty much ticking every right box. The shape of the kicks reminds me of the old Blosom decks, and it helps soo much with catching tricks as well as getting them snapped up into the air thanks to the ton of pop this has. Oh, and as if that wasn't good enough, it's pretty much rock solid too, and I cant see anything other than tiny barely visible scratches in the lacquer after all this time. Amazing, basically. 10/10

Overall
the only real issue I have with this deck is that there should be a stamp or a small arrow drawn on the top, and I mean.. is that really an issue? I think that says more than I could say in words as to how nice this deck is - unless you're into really hardcore boards and wont appreciate the medium kicks mellow concave that this has, I could not recommend a board more. The only crazy thing is that they're 15 dollars, but you can treat yourself to a custom or a crazy woodprint for a bit more, and I wholeheartedly think that's worth it. Fully recommended! 10/10

Northwoods Eternal Mini Review

I wont properly review this deck as I've already reviewed one, this is just a different style of graphic I got to try out. And having a day before I can set up the next deck in my review queue because I left it at the office, this seemed a good time.

Check out the Northwoods Eternal decks. That's their word for everslick graphics, something I've always wanted to get a proper try on and not really done so until now. really wish more companies made graphics like these, they're not only super durable but slide nicer than anything I've ever riden, it's like flowing above a ledge rather than actually sliding it. Not to mention all the other great things about Northwoods decks, and how nicely this is made? Get on these when they're out, they're gonna be seriously good.

You can check the full review of Northwoods decks here :)

Frost G3 Mellow Review

After having tried a Frost and quite liking it years ago, I was stoked when I was asked to review the new boards. This review will mainly focus on the G3, but also mention the G5 which is a slightly more hardcore shape. Nonetheless, here's my review! Pictures first, I set this up with BRT wides, Grand Wheels, and Ace tape. Sorry for bad quality pictures by the way, I didn't have my proper camera here at time of writing.

Shipping was average, a week or two USA - UK. All arrived in perfect condition and were nicely packaged. 10/10

First impressions
, I was not only mindblown by the fact that he'd sent over FOUR decks, but stoked on how nice they all looked. Everything from their presentation and packaging to the craftsmanship looked flawless, and I loved the fact that he made a UK flag split too. They all looked really consistent too, which is something I love to see as it means that even though I review one deck, any deck someone will buy is going to be just as nice. 10/10

Craftsmanship
as I said is really nice, however the UK flag split has a few tiny and barely visible gaps in it. He did mention that it wasn't a perfect deck, and as all the other splits were flawless I wont really count that as I'm sure he'd never sell a deck that wasn't up to standards. That's not to say everything else isn't great though, I cant fault the pressing, shaping, rounding, drilling, or finish on these at all. 9.75/10

Performance
of this deck is soo nice, I was amazed how quickly and effortlessly I could get all my tricks down on a deck that's longer and deeper than I'm used to. It's a super poppy deck and seemed to respond really well to almost every trick I tried. I couldn't seem to get things like casper flips down for the life of me though, but that's more my preference against lots of concave rather than a flaw with the deck. Although, that said, I feel there is perhaps a bit too much concave on this for being called a mellow deck, and if it was slightly more mellow I feel everything about this deck would be nicer - it's still a really solid all round performer though. The lacquer held up great too, I can barely see any scratches on it after a lot of riding! My main issue is that the kicks aren't different enough so I could never really tell which was the nose or tail, which really annoyed me during lines when you'd have switched your board 180 due to a trick. It was far from a ruining point to the deck, just something that I feel could be fixed and would make these even nicer. 9.5/10

Overall
these decks are pretty amazing, and do a lot right, especially for the price. Crisp, solid, nicely presented, and almost flawlessly made. If the kicks were made to be a bit different I think everyone would have a hard time disliking them, especially as you've got your choice of kick and concave so you can get a board that suits you and that'll last a pretty nice amount of time. Well worth trying. 9.5/10

Northwoods Joystic Pro Deck Review

I got this deck, as well as the other Northwoods shape deck (the old shape) to review/checkout, but after seeing the old shape and realising it's way to hardcore for at least my use, I focused on the new and improved shape. So how is it? Well, here's my review! Pictures first, I set it up with BRT Wides, Grand Wheels, and Northwoods tape.

Shipping was pretty standard, around a week US-UK, with everything arriving in perfect condition and nicely packaged. Cant complain. 10/10

First impressions
of this deck was me having the biggest smile on my face seeing this graphic. It's one of my favourite graphics ever printed on a fingerboard so I'm hyped to have one myself, and knowing how the deck is finished off with everything in terms of how it's made means there's nothing really to do but drool at it. 10/10

Craftsmanship
of this deck is immaculate, I cant find a single thing wrong with it. Perfect shaping, great lacquer, and all the holes drilled so your trucks are going in fine and aligned right too. Not to mention the deck is really solid? In terms of how it's put together, I cant find a single flaw. 10/10

Performance
of this deck is really nice, however slightly weird. If you've not read much into Northwoods decks, they've got a super unique and as far as I know never done before innovation, called the sweet ridge. Sounds like some tasty type of crisps but infact it's a weird 'second concave', a raised up bit in the middle of the deck. Why? Well, it's only a small raise, and it helps you find your finger positioning and use the board with your fingers and brain more rather than looking at everything. Does it work? Well, yes and no, sometimes I loved it and sometimes I wished it would disappear, I think it entirely depends what way you're riding and what tricks you're doing as to whether it's a good thing or not. Otherwise the deck is super poppy and nice and crisp (not to mention indestructible in terms of graphic wear) - my only real issue is the time it takes getting used to the sweet ridge. Otherwise you're left with an all round deck that's ticking all the right boxes in terms of performance. HOWEVER the sweet ridge is there, and for certain tricks/styles of riding you'll find yourself wishing it didn't exist. The opposite stands true too, so I'm sure with like a month of riding it you'd never want to ride without it, but right now as fascinating as it is, I'm not sold. 9.5/10

Overall
I love this deck, not only does it seem to be able to take a ridiculous beating without flinching, but it's super innovative too. Maybe this concave isn't for everyone, but for those who are into crazy street tech I think this really should be seen as more than just a gimic, as it could really help a lot. Maybe not though, my only real advice on it would be to lower it so it's less obvious but still there, so it'd further cater to everyone. However that unique feature aside and you're left with one of the most solid, interesting, and great to ride decks that are currently on the market. 9.75/10

Primitive Deck Review

I've been loving reviewing this deck, so now it's finally time to spill the beans and let you guys know what they're like. Pictures first? I set this up with BRT Wides, TKYs, and Grand Wheels.

Shipping was standard, just under a week coming from Norway to here. Arrived nicely packaged and everything was in perfect condition. 10/0

First impressions
I was absolutely blown away by everything on this deck. The graphic was a surprise to me so I had no idea I was actually getting a Fingersized deck, not to mention everything else about the deck and the way it's presented look amazing. 10/10

Craftsmanship
is flawless on this deck, I cant find a single way to complain. Nicely shaped deck, pressed evenly, perfectly aligned holes, and all finished off as you'd expect any professional deck to be. 10/10

Performance
of this deck is pretty nice. The kicks are higher than I initially thought from pictures, and even though they're not super high they're around the level of a Flatface deck, which I find quite hard to get used to. Once you're used to it tricks can go down nicely, but I think in terms of controlling the board it takes a while to get used to catching higher kicks if you're used to lower kicks. However, that's just me, and there's no denying this board has a great shape, and pops beautifully, making a lot of street tricks really nice to do. My only real complaint also pertains to the kicks, I wish they were a tiny bit longer, and the nose was more defined - I feel this would make riding mini and probably all tricks feel a bit nicer, as I felt when trying to ride miniramp that I wanted a bit more to put my fingers on. Lacquer smudged a bit too, but any deck does really so that's simply the fact that it was used. In short, a lot of nice performance and a very solid all round feel, even if it'll take some getting used to if you're a mellow fan. 9/10

Overall
whilst I think the kicks on these decks could do with some tweaking, there are otherwise a LOT of fantastic things to say about them. Crisp, solid, great looking, and basically flawless in terms of craftsmanship - which all makes for a deck that'll have you stonking your favourite tricks with ease. Not every deck can please everyone, but if you like medium decks and want a mainly street board that'll give you some tasty flip to grind tricks, you could do a lot worse than one of these. 9.25/10

Zink Deck Review

I've been riding and liking this deck for a while now, so I feel it's finally time to do what I was supposed to do, a review! Pictures? I set this up with BRT Wides, Grand Wheels, and Ace3.

Shipping was pretty quick, around a week US -> UK. Came nicely packaged and with some cool stickers too. 10/10

First impressions, I absolutely loved the bottom ply! Really nice looking, and everything about the deck had a really professional finish. Not to mention some rad coloured middle and top plies too - pretty much thumbs up all round. 10/10

Craftsmanship is really flawless on this deck, I cant find a single point to complain about it. Great rounding, nicely and evenly pressed, perfect holes and countersinks, and a nice coat of lacquer to finish it off. 10/10

Performance of this deck really surprised me, I'd not tried one before so I didn't know what to expect - what I found was very nice though! The shape is a medium kick/concave, which is too much concave for me as it's a rather generous medium concave that feels too deep for my liking. However I did get used to it, and found that all my tricks went down pretty easy, thanks to the nice shaped kicks and tons of pop to match. It's a really solid board overall, however I found that due to the shape riding miniramp and/or cruising didn't seem anywhere near as good as it would for me compared to a slightly 'fatter' feeling deck - however with good street performance it's a fair tradeoff. The only other downside is the smudgy lacquer after slides, which is something you get with thick lacquer that's again a tradeoff: it's super shiny, yet once it's been scratched off the bits that scratch look smudged. Gives it kind of an interesting look though, so it's not all bad. 9.25/10

Overall whilst this deck wasn't my preference in terms of concave, I found it to be super nice to ride, as well as really solid, with absolutely flawless craftsmanship. If you're after a deck to cruise on or ride mini with as well as street I wouldn't recommend this, but very few decks I find can do both well, so it's a fair tradeoff with the otherwise nice performance you get. These deserve a lot more recognition for how nice they are! 9.5/10

Woob Deck Review

These decks are super interesting and very unique in their shape, so I was really excited to review mine and see what all the fuss was about. Interested? Well, here's my review! Pictures first, I set this up with BRTs, Grand Wheels, and China tape.

Shipping was normal, a week or so US -> Uk. All arrived in a bubble mailer and was in perfect condition. 10/10

First impressions
, I was soo hyped on this deck. I was told it was 'used', but it looked 100% brand new so I'm not sure what that was about, maybe used for 5 minutes but nothing more. The shape and craftsmanship were soo good from first glance, and it had a rad purple bottom to top it all off. 10/10

Craftsmanship
on these decks is flawless, they're not only pressed perfectly, shaped perfectly, and rounded perfectly, but the holes are all spot on too. I cant find a single thing wrong with it craftsmanship wise, and as such setup was absolutely effortless. Just how a deck should be. 10/10

Performance
of this is super interesting. Being a 92x32mm deck, it's super short and has a much shorter wheelbase, so it's definitely a big difference to standard decks. Is it nicer? Well, I'm not sure nicer is the word, but it's just a different feel. It made a lot of tricks flow more, but then catching things felt a bit awkward at times. However I was shocked that not only does it pack a ton of pop for being soo small, but it didn't take me any time at all to get used to, I was popping out all my tricks in no time. Durability wise it's only scratched a little bit, something that almost every deck I've ridden will do over time, and it's far from trashed at any rate. There's a lot of power in this tiny board! 9.5/10

Overall
these are amazing, but I do think it's worth pointing out that whilst the performance is fantastic, I still prefer a normal length board. We've all gone for wider and wider boards over the years to help with catching, and whilst these are far from difficult by any means to use, I think after throwing down loads of flip grind combos the extra length of a normal board makes catching into grinds a bit easier. Don't get me wrong, this is still amazing to use, but I think shorter boards are more akin to miniramp and carving than street tricks. This does a very good job of bridging the gap, as well as being one of the most fun decks I've ever ridden - so overall I'm a huge fan. Just know if you're going to make one of these your main decks, despite how well made and fantastic to ride they are, there might be a transition before you're fully used to catching a shorter board in the same way you would a normal length one. 9.5/10

Witchcraft Bushings Review

These bushings have been getting lots of hype recently, and the question on many people's minds is 'are they as good as people say?' Well, now it's review time and you can find out. Pictures? I set these up on my Blosom with BRTs and Flatface wheels.

Shipping was good, around a week US -> UK, with all the bushings arriving in great condition and some great packaging. 10/10

First impressions
I love the look of the packaging, and when I opened them up I was soo stoked on the colours! I picked the teal set for myself but there are loads to choose from, all with the same material and feel to them. From a distance they look great but up close you can see minor imperfections in the shaping of them, although that's purely aesthetic and you literally have to get right up close to see it. 9/10

Craftsmanship
as I mentioned isn't perfect on these, but only when looking up close. The shape isn't fully defined on these too, so whilst they at first glance might just look a bit like blobs you'll soon notice the shaping, and see that the holes are perfect on them. Not a single problem setting them up too, it was pretty effortless and they allowed more than enough space for them and the nut to sit on the kingpin without needing to squash them. 8.75/10

Performance
of these is amazing. Absolutely amazing infact. I've had them on my main since having had them basically, and they're easily the best bushings I've ever ridden. Mindblowingly responsive, if you thought things like TKYs have a nice springback these put them to shame. The ultimate bushings for those who like flowy riding, these make carving bowls/mini soo much fun, as well as standard street tricks. They seem really durable and despite having tightened the nut a lot more than I would have for riding TKY bushings, these don't show any sign or tearing or squashing. They give you all the pop you need, whilst having a great flow to them that allows you to quickly move from solid to turning if you need to - in a way they remind me of riding Bones Hardcore Bushings for all you skateboarders out there.

The negative points? Well, not so much a negative but something to keep in mind, unlike things like TKYs you cant just put these on, get the tightness right, and be done with it. It seems they have a fairly quick wear in time, and over the first few days of using them you'll probably find yourself fiddling with the tightness until they're just right. Definitely worth persevering with however, I had to tighten mine multiple times as the wear in process seems to sort of set them in the truck more, so they feel slightly looser, and need tightening to a previous point. I don't know how much that's true when riding a medium ride from these - because even after fiddling these are still looser than you can get TKYs. Still, I cant stress enough how fun and smooth these are to ride, it's definitely worth a day or two of needing to keep a tool handy. 9.75/10

Overall
I love these bushings. They're my new favourites, and I really want another set to put on my pool board too! Flowy, fun, and more responsive than anything I've ever ridden, I think the good things about these far outweigh the bad. Sure they don't look 100% uniform up close, and sure you'll take a few days to get them to that sweet spot, but for how nice they'll make your ride and the pretty nice price tag that they come with, I don't think there's any way you could say it's not worth it. To answer the very first question : Yes, they're as good as people say! 9.5/10

Go check Witchcraft here, or they're available at Fingersized :)

OG New Shape Review

After having liked but not loved the old OG shape decks, I was pretty interested to see what their latest versions had in store. Interested too? Well, here's my review. Pictures first, I set this up with BRT wides, Grand Wheels, and china tape.

Shipping was pretty quick, like a week US -> UK. It arrived nicely packaged and was in perfect condition. 10/10

First impressions
I was totally blown away by the bottom ply. Gunner (the owner) said he'd make me something that'd be amazing, and that was definitely the case, it's such a crazy split that also looks different depending on what light you look at it in. Not to mention everything else about the deck looked great too? 10/10

Craftsmanship
on this deck is pretty much flawless. The shaping is perfectly consistent all the way around, the deck is really nicely and evenly pressed, and the holes are all aligned and centred, too - which meant setup was effortless. The lacquer did look a bit thick though. 9.5/10

Performance
of this deck is pretty nice. The shape isn't my preference, I'm into mellow decks but I can normally get on with a medium, however the kicks on this are more medium-high than medium, so I had a bit of difficulty with it. That said, I got used to is straight away and managed to get my tricks down with ease, however it almost had too much pop? The kicks mixed with the fact that it's a super solid and really crispy, poppy deck meant that sometimes tricks went too high, and it was too hard to control them. Not all the time, far from it, but it did happen. Whether that's just because I'm used to more mellow decks remains to be seen, I guess a lot of anyone's experience with a deck is their own personal preference. The only other thing I say bad is that the lacquer does scratch a fair bit, even if you cant see it in the pictures very well it took a fair beating. That's purely aesthetic however, and I think this deck could last for a long time because otherwise in terms of performance it's extremely solid. 8.75/10

Overall
I think this deck is great, and whilst I couldn't personally love it's shape, the same could be said for others about decks I'd love. Performance is always subjective, and I think there are enough amazing points about this deck such as craftsmanship, solid feel, and pop that more than make up for me not liking it's kick height. And that said, I did still find it really fun to use and managed to get all my tricks down pretty much straight away - just sometimes couldn't control them as much as I'd like. However if you like medium decks and want to try something new, I definitely recommend you give these a look. 9.25/10

Redwolf Low Deck Review

Redwolf have been around for a very long time, infact back years ago I rode for them, so it's been cool to see the progression of their decks from back in the day to what they are now. Want to know what now holds? Well, here's my review! Pictures first, I set this up with BRT Wides, Grand Wheels, and China tape.

Shipping was pretty average, a week or so US to UK. Arrived in a bubble mailer and came in perfect condition, so nothing to complain about there. 10/10

First impressions
I was absolutely stoked on the bottom ply of this deck! Forest green is one of my favourite colours, especially a nice dark forest green like this, so I was really loving that. Everything else about the deck looked great too. 10/10

Craftsmanship
of this deck is pretty great. The only little problem I have is that one of the truck holes was slightly (maybe by 1mm so barely anything) more to the right than the centre of the board, which is only an aesthetic issue but worth mentioning. Otherwise this is a beautifully made deck, which is nicely pressed throughout and looks super crisp. 9/10

Performance
is amazing! It's one of those decks that doesn't look like it'll blow you away, and then it does, but not by doing anything spectacular. These decks have nothing to make them stand out as mindblowingly creative, but that's not what they're going for at all. What they do have is super solid performance - I could get everything on this deck effortlessly from the second I started using it, and even after tons of shredding I cant see a single place where the deck or lacquer has begin to wear. Some mega nice pop too, don't think you'll ever have to try hard for high tricks on one of these decks! One bad thing that comes with all this is that the kick shape is slightly boxy, and whilst that makes for some amazing street consistency if you're after a nice cruiser deck, this wont suit you well. You cant fill every demographic with one deck, though! 10/10

Overall
whilst this isn't great for cruising, and had a slight issue with the truck holes, it's a fantastic deck. I know creativity and bringing new things to the table are always good, but at the end of the day much like in skateboarding I'm sure all of us can see the appeal in a deck that straight up does what it should - no fuss, just fingerboarding at it's finest. I was seriously surprised by how far these decks have come over the years, at their current state they're an amazing yet simple deck that'll satisfy anyone looking for a nice cheap board to ride. 9.75/10
