Flatface Instagram Contest

I love this contest, not only because instagram is pretty fun despite half the world looking down on it as 'hipster', BUT winning free stuff is never a bad thing.

You can win yourself some free Flatface pool coping by taking a picture of a DIY spot you've made, and tag it by the end of the month. The top 10 places will receive Flatface pool copings, so hopefully there will be loads of really awesome spots for us to check out even if we don't enter. Good luck to everyone though!

Setup Of The Year #3 Winner

The Results are in, and we've finally got a winner for Setup of the Year. After a few weeks, hundreds of votes, and lots of fun, who is this year's winner?

Congratulations to Jorge S for his awesome Zonawood setup, it's Setup Of The Year #3! I'm surprised voting changed soo drastically away from the winner of the 1st round, but that's why there's runner up spots. Nonetheless Huge congrats to Jorge, it's rad to see a new setup of the year, and it's got a very subtle hint of originality mixed into an overall simple setup - I guess that's what I'd like to ride myself so I can see why it won.

I'm glad this year we were spared any pointless drama and just enjoyed some setups, I really hope you guys had fun with this like I did and will look forward to next year's competition. I don't want to just celebrate 1st place though, who got the 2nd and 3rd spots?

Axel W's Weca beauty (left) and BeastPants Chris' BeastPants banana split.. Both amazing setups, so congratulations to those too for getting the runner up places. It's always really interesting to see all the setups that everyone creates, the mix of standard staple products and innovation really makes me smile and shows how interesting fingerboarding can be on soo many levels.

Unfortunately there's no prize for runners up, but many of you may remember me keeping the prize this year a secret. What does Jorge walk away with for having a setup crowned setup of the year?

This amazing trophy will be on it's way to you, hopefully it's a fitting reward for winning setup of the year! I wanted to go in a different direction than giving away a setup this year, I think this has a much more long lasting appeal and that fits with what SOTY has always been to me. It's wall mountable or can just stand on a desk, so hopefully you'll find a nice home for it. Good luck to everyone else for next year!

Jorge, please contact me via email or facebook. Everyone else, have an awesome day fingerboarding, and thanks for voting :)

YW Instagram Competition

I actually really like instagram, especially since it's had video added to it. So this is fun to see.

Yellowood are holding an instagram video competition, and you can win some sick prizes for taking part! Film anything fingerboarding related and tag it #ywvideo, pretty simple really. Get some tricks down, be creative, or otherwise drool over your current setup, who knows. Just have fun, and you could walk away with goodies from YW.

Go check Yellowood on instagram @yellowood :)

SOTY #3 Prize Preview

Here's something to get you guys a little stoked as to voting for the winner of Setup of the Year #3's final round..

I cant give this away, but I will say it's not ALL of the prize, per se. It's the main component and it needs to be added too to make the prize as rad as I hope it will, but you'll all see it when it's finished on thursday. For now, get voting and make sure your favourite setup wins what ever this may be!

The vote page is here :)

Setup Of The Year #3 - Final Round!

This might have happened last year as a sort of happy accident, but I thought it was really interesting, so I'm gonna do it again! After a week of voting..

The Final Round of SOTY#3 is going down. Soo many awesome setups were in, and a huge thankyou to all of you for voting, but now it's time to narrow it down and choose again from only the remaining six setups, who got the top 6 highest votes. You can check all the details of your choices on the new SOTY page below, but if you want a sneaky first look, here they are.

How do you choose between those? I have no idea. But hopefully you can, so go choose one of them, vote, and may the best setup win. This year's prize is still a secret that wont be announced until Thursday when I'll pick the winner, but I can promise you it's something really rad. Make sure your favourite gets that spot!

Also, make sure when you vote to use the setups' new numbers on the final round page, not their numbers from the last round, as they've all been changed.

Thanks again for voting everyone, you can head to the final round voting page here :)

SOTY#3 Vote Reminder

Just a reminder for you guys to head over to the SOTY page, and vote for your favourite setup to go through to the next round. Why?

Because it's awesome, that's why. Seriously though, there are loads of great setups and the only way you can make your favourite one go through is to vote! It takes only a second, and the next round of voting will start at some time tomorrow, after the new SOTW (which will be the first entrant in SOTY #4) is announced. Get voting!

Go check the SOTY page here :)

Setup Of The Year #3!

For the third year in a row, setups from the past year are all lined up so you can all pick your favourite. Why? So that one may be crowned Setup Of The Year!

The voting page is all set, this year there are another 52 setups from you to choose from, simply head to the page and check out all the setups. You can click on any setup to be taken to that SOTW entry, to read more about it and maybe see more pictures. Then pick your favourite, remember it's number (written to the left of the setup on the voting page), head to the vote, select that number, and click vote. Simple.

Why should you bother? Well, I cant show off the prize just yet, but it's really rad, and the winning setup will receive it. Something much more lasting than a deck with some BRTs and Winklers too, it's just an amazing tribute to all the awesome setups that have been made throughout the year. Only you can help your favourite setup win, so get looking, pick the best, and go for it!

Some rules to help alleviate the crap that's gone down the last few years:
-Telling people to vote for your setup is not allowed. You can tell people to vote for the setup they want, but let them choose for themselves. This includes rallying your friends on facebook - just let everyone pick their favourite, it's a lot more fun that way.
-Telling people if you win you'll give away the stuff you win is not allowed.
-Cheating by using unfair methods to vote more than once is not allowed.

Okay? Vote once, have fun, enjoy following the results and staying stoked on the winner!

Voting stops for this round Sunday 15th - I'll explain what happens next then.

NOTE - if the setups page doesn't display properly you've viewed it a few times, close your browswer and try again.

Head to the voting page here :)

FBRstuff Competition

Everyone loves contests right? Sure you do, free stuff is never a bad thing. Especially when it's this..

BRR Store Berlin Competition

It's always good to see competitions pop up, even if this one isn't fully accessible worldwide.

Take a picture of fingerboarding at a Berlin fingerboard spot for your chance to win a Winkler DOS, thanks to the BRR store in Berlin. It's running to the end of the month so whilst Berlin locals will undoubtedly get on this, maybe if you're going on holiday this month you can enter? Either way, props to the store for organising it.

Unite x Frost Competition Winners

Yup, the contest is over! Thanks for all the entries, I had a ton of fun reading them all. Who are the lucky people receiving one of these two decks?

It was a super tough choice, soo many of these made me smile and laugh as well as reminding me how much the scene is pretty amazing at times - BUT there can only be two winners. Those are..

1st place: Melvin Thomas
2nd place: Danny Hynam

Congrats to them both! I loved both their entries, I almost chose Danny to win but Melvin ending screaming CARPE DIEM had me in stitches. We're still not sure if you're stupid or a genius, you frunkard.. Danny + Melvin drop me a PM or email so I can get your prizes out to you.

You can read all the entries here :)

Unitefingerboarding + Frost Birthday Competition

Yup, I'm all caught up with posts and things are back to normal now, hope you guys had a good time yesterday! I did, I had a great birthday, thankyou for all the birthday messages. However I feel it's unfair that just I got some nice things, soo..

Here are some Frost decks that turned up! I'm soo stoked on this, he said he'd send two, one of each shape, but ended up sending four? The UK split G3 and the G5 are mine to review, I'll get on trying them out once I finish my Northwoods review at the weekend, but for now I can just say these are insanely nice. Why am I bragging about having loads though?

COMPETITION OVER! Thanks for all the entries! Winners are here :)

Unite's Third Birthday Competition Winner

I'm sorry I've taken ages to announce this, but for those of you wondering who won the competition..

Big congrats to Chris H! His creative way of saying happy birthday was to mash together lots of unite's videos into a weird timeline of sorts - it was actually amazing to watch and be reminded where I started and where things are now. Thanks for the video Chris, and to everyone else for some great entries.

Chris - get at me via email for your goodies :)

Final Reminder

It's the final countdown reminder. For what? Well, your chance to win something awesome.

Want to win this deck along with some other goodies? Well, you've got until midnight tonight to get entries in for the unite 3rd birthday competition. It's simple, allows for a lot of creativity, and let's be honest - you've got nothing else to do. Enter, have some fun, and you might win!

This Blosom deck along with other good stuff can be yours for having some fun and entering the competition - all the details of which can be found by clicking on the link in the 'top stories' section. I've had some sick entries but it's still anyone's game right now. Deadline is Saturday at 11:59pm!

Ace3 Winner

I had a lot of awesome entries for this competition, but unfortunately only one of you can be the winner. Who's walking away with this pack of tape?

The winner is Zac M! It was a really tough choice, but I loved the silliness and yet evil genius vibe behind his entry. What was it?

I would bring the tape along for my annual trip to rendezvous.
At the top of every hour I would stick a piece of tape to some fishing line..
I would then proceed to scope out an unsuspecting victim.
I would casually set the bait, and in one or two stealthy motions I would be in another part of the room. Watching. Waiting. Baiting.... O.o
The individual may or may not catch the piece of tape. Whatever the outcome... they will not know what or who just did that. They'll be flabbergasted, you see.
I would remain stealthy and unknown. Lurking about, with a shady grin.

Rendevous troll? You sir, win yourself some tape. Get at me via the email you posted to claim your prize. Thanks for taking part everyone :)

Ace3 Competition

This isn't really a competition that should be taken seriously, but I want to get this pack of the awesome new Ace tape out to one of you guys. Soo..

What do you have to do? Well, simply comment below on this post with your most fun/silly/not true story as to what you'd do with this pack of tape if you got it. I'll pick the winner on Monday. Make sure to leave your email too - otherwise it's open worldwide.

Have fun everyone :)

Morph Bowl Contest

I love this contest, not only because Morph are awesome, but because it's relatively open to everyone.

It doesn't matter whether you can shred bowls like Hansen or you cant even ollie, all you have to do is take a picture of your bowl and tag as instructed for a chance to win either some amazing Morph pool coping, or a berlinwood bowl deck! This pool coping sounds too nice so who ever wins this is very lucky - I wish I had a bowl to enter myself!
