Expo Jam

Portugal do some amazing things for fingerboarding, thats for sure. They've got some epic riders, and amazing companies that keep constantly pushing fingerboarding forward. They even have a g8 park they brought from BRR to hold events on! And now, with the theme of events in mind, they've started what will be an ongoing series of events, the Expo Jam.

The first event just happened last month. Being that its held at the Expo Skatepark in Portugal, it borrowed its name from that. The place chosen as it was the first place an event ever went down in Portugal, back in 2007. Crazy how far not only their scene, but fingerboarding in general has come since then! Check this video out of Expo Jam 1.

Holding a fingerboard event at a skatepark would be such a chilled atmosphere, its great to see that the local skaters don't interfere, and that everyone just has an amazing time.

As this was written on FFI it was written to inspire, and I must say it does. Inspire people to make their own events, to help their own scene progress. I'll take a step back from the global podium and just talk about the UK here.. We're like 13409349083 years behind the rest of the world with fingerboarding, scene wise. What ever happens? Nothing. Thankfully there are a few events being planned, but, thats after basically a year of nothing going on. Look how much fun these guys had with this event? Infact, now, back to a global level, wherever you live in the world, if you want fingerboarding to grow, you've got to start. Talk with your friends and actually do something. Because nothing can grow if you don't take the first steps to move. We all love fingerboarding, so, lets spread the love.

Huge props to lowpro + fingerboardpt guys for organising this event, and all the ones they'll organise in the future. True fingerboarding love there :)
