The revolution to games of skate in skateboarding, Skate Or Dice as the berrics (I think?) started, has now been put to fingerboarding. 3 or 4 dice can be used, to either do flatland, or grind tricks, in games of skate. And even if you just have them on your own, it'd be a great way to get consistency on loads of tricks down. Roll the dice, do said trick, roll dice, do next trick. If you can do 3 tricks from all 4 dice in a row, you've got mad consistency (or you're really lucky!). If you're still confused on exactly how it works, watch this awesome video.
How fun does that look? For everyone at this stage being like 'just go get some skate dice!', well, no, because although possible, 360 tricks on a fingerboard are REALLY hard to pull off, especially with flips and stuff.. When skate dice asks you to pull off a switch 360 heel variation, thats basically a switch gazelle heel. You wanna do that on a fingerboard first try? Haha.. Besides, these have grinds in too. All in all I think they're a fantastic new product out and they'll make competitions, meetups, seshes on your own, hell, they'll make everything more fun! Huge props to the people behind Hooded.
My one issue with them, however, is their current listed price, 1470 yen, is according to google like £12, or $18. Then shipping on that.. I mean, I don't know how they're made, but.. that seems very steep for some dice. I don't know enough to judge really, but, like, $20, for dice, assuming shipping is cheap. That's still crazy. I hope to hear some more information on that side of them soon.
Nonetheless, a great new innovative product. Go check out www.hooded.co :)
