Redemption MMC 2012 Review

So, I got this deck a few weeks ago as a gift from Jordan, and I thought I'd do a review of it, as these new decks are soo superior to the previous Redemption decks, were were really good anyway! First some pictures, I set it up with BRR trucks, TKYs, Winkler wheels, and Propaganda tape.

Shipping took around a week if I recall, it was a decent time considering the package came all the way from America. Came nicely packaged and arrived in perfect condition, and also came presented in the cool redemption topped bags with stickers and tape inside. 10/10

First impressions
of this deck were being amazed at how shiny it is! You can see from the pictures, and that's after 2 weeks of riding this. Its literally glass like lacquer, really beautiful to look at, and I imagine if you had a watery coloured burl as a bottom ply it'd literally look like looking into water. Overall I loved the deck, I couldn't see a single problem with it. 10/10

Craftsmanship
of this deck is seriously nice, Redemption have definitely stepped up their game! The decks are now soo well pressed, some of the nicest pressed decks I've seen infact. The shape is perfect throughout, perfectly rounded, and 100% evenly pressed. Holes were perfect too, although setup took a bit longer than normal, I think the countersinks could have been a little bit deeper to make setup easier - however all 8 screws went in fine after a few minutes. 9.5/10

Performance
of this deck is really nice, the MMC shape is such a nice mellow yet flowy and very functional deck, and this being a 30x99, it was great to ride. When I first started riding the deck I thought the tail was short, because it was shorter than what I was used to. However once I seshed with it I found it actually made for a really snappy pop, and unlike some decks I've used, the tail isn't too short at all - just shorter than some. It actually gave it a realistic feel, as the nose is longer than the tail on a skateboard too. I did notice the lacquer, whilst it didn't smudge or actually chip off, it'd scratch a bit more than normal due to it being a very generous and extremely shiny lacquer. This didn't make the deck feel any less smooth, just its worth noting as it definitely scratched more than other lacquers I've tried on decks. As I said, that didn't affect performance and you're still left with a deck full of pop that's a really nice shape. 9.5/10

Overall
Redemption decks were nice before, but they've totally blown me away with the 2012 decks. Beauty meets performance, and with some basically perfect craftsmanship too. If its too mellow for your preference, they also have other shapes, other widths, and some insanely cool graphics! There's really something for everyone to be had, and I'm glad to see Redemption have come a long way from far from the best decks a few years ago, to the fantastic products they're putting out today. 9.5/10
