Life Deck Review

I've had this deck for a while, and after lots of seshing it's finally review time? Pictures first? I set this up with BRT wides, Grand Wheels, and Grand tape.

Shipping took a fair while, but only because for some reason the package was returned to sender and had to be sent again, which isn't really their fault at all. Arrived in perfect condition, so no complaints there! 10/10

First impressions
, I thought it was a super cool deck but instantly saw an issue with it. The 'anti engraving' on it is really nice, but it goes past the truck holes meaning setup would be hindered. Otherwise it looked nice though. 8.5/10

Craftsmanship is both good and bad on this. In terms of how the deck is shaped it seems fairly nice, the kick rounding is spot on and it's got perfect holes too. The shape seems slightly undefined though, almost like a 'banana' shape in some ways. Not that that affects performance, but it doesn't look great. Plus it's topped off with some lacquer that kind of looks like half dried icing in the right light. 7/10

Performance
of this deck is actually really fun. I thought it'd be not so nice whilst looking at it, but put it on a miniramp and you really enjoy the wide very low/no concave feel it's got. Unfortunately taking it to street and it takes a lot of getting used to, but even when you know the deck well it struggles to perform as flawlessly as soo many other decks do. Some flips seem difficult, and the shape just doesn't feel right. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun deck to use, but I found myself having to put a bit more effort in than usual to get tricks down. 6.75/10

Overall
this is a nice deck. Some very nice craftmanship points and a ton of potential, I think if a few things were fixed up about these they'd be really nice to ride - especially for people like me who are a fan of very low concave decks. However right now it just comes across as having a slightly amateur feel to the way it's finished. Given how many other deck companies are out there, both cheap and expensive, that can make beautiful professional looking decks, I have a hard time recommending this. I did like a lot about this deck, and do see a ton of potential here, but right now it unfortunately misses the bat. 7/10
