First impressions, I was soo stoked on these wheels! Mainly because they had personalised some packaging for my review set so they had my name on, haha.. But otherwise they looked beautiful, and I could tell I'd like them before I set them up. 10/10
Craftsmanship on these wheels is the same as with any professional wheel. 100% lathed to a flawless level, mixed with the innovation of the design making for a super sick wheel. Obviously this meant setup on them was effortless too. 10/10
Performance wise these are amazing. I'd never tried Grand wheels before but heard good things, and those things were definitely not just hype. Beautifully smooth wheels, amazingly nice to roll on, and not a single problem with bearing slip or anything like that, the wheels dont move in the slightest aside for how they should roll. They're BRT edition wheels, but I've tried them on standard tech deck style trucks and they work fine too, however you can only set them up in one way rather than the two ways these have for BRTs. Still, on what ever truck you put them on they'll roll great, plus they're a fantastic material too. Smooth and as grippy if not a tiny bit grippier than Winklers, whilst having the same brilliant white material as Flatface D materials - which in my books is a perfect combination. The shape also makes for some nice performance too, I know they're called 'street shape' but I found the rounded edges of the wheel actually made carving on miniramp a bit easier than with boxy wheels.
If you don't know about the wheel system, they're a single bearing wheel with an almost invisible bearing lock that keeps the bearing not centered, but firmly in place in the wheel. It's off centre so that you can set it up two ways, I've set mine up the 'standard' way - but you can turn the wheels around and set them up to have a truck width similar to Oak wheels on BRTs, so slightly thinner. All it means is that they're more versatile wheels, whilst not compromising anything as being a standard wheel too. Mix all that with the gorgeous feel of these wheels and the absolutely 0 problems I've had with them? 10/10
Overall I feel bad giving a product 10/10, but honestly, I've tried hard to find something I don't love about these. Or, okay, I can, they're 7.5mm diameter. Which is a standard size, but I love tiny wheels so I kind of wish they were 7.0s.. however everyone seems to love standard wheels so that's hardly a point against the wheel - these are the size of Winkler BRR editions, which is a nice medium and even though it's a tiny bit bigger than I'm used to I still loved every minute of riding them. Smooth, nicely shaped, great material to ride, and innovative design that doesn't do LOADS, but still more than your average wheel does whilst keeping under the price of that too. And they come in three colourways, so if white isn't your thing there's still something you'll enjoy. In short, I cant recommend these more, they easily are on par with the high quality wheels out there like Flatface, Oak, and Winkler - just a little bit cheaper! 10/10
