Fingerplant 2013 Deck Review

I was really impressed with the old Fingerplant decks, but after being blown away by pictures and info on the 2013 range you can imagine my face getting to try one for myself. Pictures? I set this up with BRT Wides, Winklers, and Fingerplant (new) tape.

Shipping was very quick, I always pay for express shipping when I buy stock from Fingerplant and it's always sent out promptly and across the world in about a week. Arrived in perfect condition too. 10/10

First impressions
I was stoked on everything about this deck. The new shape looked soo nice, the stamp to top it off, the beautiful coloured plies, graphics, everything looked really nice. Cant find a reason to complain. 10/10

Craftsmanship
is really nice, it's not only perfectly pressed but the shaping is consistent and nicely done, the rounding is spot on, and all holes are drilled and countersinked leaving setup a complete breeze. Nicely finished off with a shiny coat of lacquer. 10/10

Performance
of this deck is great. For a low-medium concave it had a bit more concave than I'm used too, but only a bit of getting used to it and I had every trick down on lock - this deck seems to make tricks flow out effortlessly. Crisp, snappy, responsive, lots of pop, and quite a nice light deck too, there's really nothing you can dislike about it. Or, infact there is one thing that some people might not like, the tail is quite a bit smaller than the nose - like, it works really well and doesn't feel too small to use, but it almost feels like the deck is tapered when if you look at it carefully you'll see it's 32mm throughout the whole deck. I think it takes a bit of getting used to, but once you're used to it you don't realise, and as far as I could tell from all my time using this deck it's purely an aesthetic issue. The size is only small on the width, not the length, so it's not like some decks which have tails you have a problem getting your finger on. In terms of how it holds up, the lacquer seems to have marked a little bit, but not really scratched, so I think it'll last for a long time. 9.5/10

Overall
I always feel bad giving a review where there's nothing bad to say, but honestly.. what bad is there to say here? Aside the small tail, which is not really an issue at all once you get used to it, you've got a great all round 32mm deck for a very nice price, with a graphic that's going to last a long time as well. 3 years of awesomeness is the slogan on the top of the deck and you can really tell all their deck making expertise has gone into making the 2013 decks the finest Fingerplant have ever made - and subsequently one of the finest I've ever riden. Fully recommended. 9.75/10
