Big Construction School Bench Red I Review

I got this bench not too long ago but I've used it a lot, and I thought it'd be fun and interesting for everyone if I did a review of it! I wasn't sent it to review, I brought it from the Big Construction shop. Anyway, here's my review! First, here are some pictures of it.

Shipping took around a week or so, which isn't bad considering its coming from central europe to the UK. It came nicely packaged in a bubble mailer with bubble wrap, and also came with stickers and a poster. There was a slight delay with them dispatching it, which I have to mark down as shops shouldn't really delay at all. It was only a few days though, so it didn't make that much of a difference. 9/10

First impressions of this bench were really good! It looked soo perfectly made, really nicely shaped, and everything and more I'd hoped it would be to be honest! The metal frame is amazing, soo well made and perfectly finished too, and the top is nicely painted and topped off with a stamp. 10/10

Craftsmanship of this ramp is perfect I'd say. I don't know if they make the metal bit or get it made in from somewhere, but its perfect! Just the right size, and keeps the ramp really stable. The top is perfectly put in place on the frame, and its shaped symmetrically too. I'd say its the nicest made bench I've ever seen. 10/10

Performance of the bench is really good. Its a nice size, really easy to get all kinds of tricks on, and grinds on it are soo smooth its unreal, its almost like sliding on a piece of polished marble. Its size is great for all tricks, everything from blunts, lips, and just general truck grinds are all possible very easily. Its 4.8 or 4.9cm high, which is probably considered low, but for some reason it seems a bit higher than other obstacles I have that are the same height. For example it stands basically the same height as my drex box, but seems a lot higher. I don't know why, probably the length, or the shape of it, but its worth mentioning. If you don't like really low obstacles its definitely something to get! I wanted to be able to have an obstacle that was low, but not too low, which is why I got it. Another great thing about this ramp is that you can put it upside down and do some interesting combos on the bottom metal frame, which adds more way to sesh it and even more value for money really. One negative I did find is that the paint scratches off a bit when you grind. The last picture shows how much its scratched off this week with daily use for at least an hour, so its not really bad, but definitely worth mentioning. When the paint is half scratched off it also seems a bit less 'flowy' to grind on, but once its actually scratched off its really smooth, and before its scratched off its smooth. I suppose like a lot of things you've got to wear it in to make it perfect! Another possitive and negative point (depending on what way you look at it) is that its really light. Great to carry it around, and great for shipping, but not great for the fact that because of the way the legs are made, non sliders don't have that much effect and your best bet is taping it to a table if you don't want it to move. Still, you're only taping onto metal, so it wont damage the metal at all, and it'll stay nice and secure once you've done that. 9/10

Overall I cant decide whether its my new favourite ramp or something I love to hate, haha. The size is a little too high to use as a main bench, for my personal preference, and its a little too long too. But sometimes I want something bigger to sesh and that's why I got it. If you like the BRR bench, I'm pretty sure this is a similar size, so its clearly a size a lot of people will like. A great price too, I believe mine was £17 shipped or something like that? Its well worth the money and a very versatile bench that's fun for a sesh on its own, and can also be used down stairs as a hubba, or any other ramp combination for that matter. Its one small flaw of the paint could be totally avoided if you got the wood colour bench, not the red one, and even if you get the red one its not that much of an issue. I'd say its overall one of the best bench out there, certainly the best wood bench you can get. I don't think its personally my new favourite bench, but its certainly something I'll continue to use a lot! 9/10

You can pick one up over at the Big Construction store. Which is down for maintenance for a week or so, but once its back up, definitely go pick one up! :)
