Wide Shaped Trucks

So, redawn are the first company (so far as I'm aware) to have these available, although they're merely the latest trucks from ebay so far as I hear. Feast your eyes on these.

Quite frankly, I think its what a lot of people in fingerboarding have always wanted, factory trucks without the horrible factory shape. Why? Because its a nice looking setup without the price tag of BRR trucks, Ytrucks, or shaped wides, such as Chemistry trucks. Not that those products aren't brilliant, especially the first two, there's no comparison between them and factory trucks, but, not everyone can afford that, so, its nice to have an affordable alternative. Quite frankly, I love the shape, they look almost exactly like destructo skateboard trucks, which will always be what I ride in skateboarding (mid 5.0s to be precise). And thats not even mentioning the brilliant polished finish, or that redawn also offer them in gold.

So, is it a good thing? One might say that now makers of shaped trucks are entirely out of business, because these are pretty much the same thing, and they're much more readily available. Shaped trucks take a long time to shape as well, so it was never amazing for the people doing it. But, to be honest, I think its a progression, and its been coming since BRRs and Ys hit the market. People always had shaped trucks on a main, and maybe didn't bother on an outdoor setup, but, now mains will almost always have a set of professional trucks, so, shaped trucks were ignored a bit, and outdoor setups remained how they were. Which probably explains why hand shaped trucks are rare these days, for sale at least.

Apparently a lot of companies have already ordered these in, so, you can expect lots of companies having 'company name here' trucks that all look the same within a month, haha.. I mean, not that thats a bad thing, its great that these will be readily available. Even people in factories in hong kong realise that fingerboarding is important enough to soo many people that we deserve something more than the horrible shape of 'tech deck' trucks and the like, and thats a great thing for fingerboarding, what ever way you look at these.

I hope to pick up a set of these soon, you can get them (and lots of other things) pre tuned, for the awesome price of 9.95 euros.
