Today is the last day to get your Ride To Glory 2010 entries in! I know a lot of people have entered, but, I'm sure lots of you are like 'ahh, whats the point, I wont win, so I wont bother enter..' Which, is totally the wrong attitude. Not only should you enter because a) its not about winning, and b) its a really fun thing to do, but the more entries they get the bigger, better competitions like this will get, and there will be more of them!
I mean, look at ride to glory. Its fingerboarding, and, we all know everyone outside the fingerboarding world probably thinks fingerboarding is nothing at all, just a toy that kids play with. But, then, look. Rockstar energy drink, and Skullcandy, two HUGE international companies, think fingerboarding is important enough to sponsor our events. Sure, their corporate high ups don't sit around with berlinwoods whilst they're in a meeting, but they still sponsored a fingerboarding event. Because fingerboarding is becoming something pretty big. And they think its worth sponsoring. So, prove them right, so that next year they'll do it again. And so that they might sponsor other events that things like ride to glory will inspire to happen. Not that its all about the prizes, far from it, its just a great milestone for fingerboarding. Companies completely outside of fingerboarding want something to do with it. I know its not the first time, the canon show Blackriver did for instance, but, yea, they all mark a milestone, and pave the way for a great future for fingerboarding, with companies inadvertently making lots more people find out about the amazing 'hobby' we all love.
Heres my street and vert entries. Will I be taking home first place prize? Hell no. But I still had fun.
Now, if you've not entered, go have your own fun, and enjoy fingerboarding. :)
And, thanks to fingerboarding.es for making this competition possible!
