Hush Deck Review

That was my Hush deck when I got it to review a week or so ago. I've used it a fair bit and I'm ready to review it now, so, here goes:

Shipping
The deck came in a nice bubble mailer, nicely wrapped, and only took just over a week to get here from the US, which is very good. Not much else to say, if you buy from hush, shipping is free, which is good. 10/10

First Impressions
The deck looked really nice and looked a very nice shape. Amazing colour on the plies. Nice and shiny. One of the holes was off as you'll see in the picture below, and one of the tails wasn't as round as the other, but, it was barely noticeable. There was an immediately evident problem however with the lacquer, that it wasn't dry. Or, it was slightly tacky to the touch. I don't know how lacquer works, but, I relacquered a deck once and after leaving it 24 hours it was fine, so, I guess hes using a bad lacquer. There was also a lacquer bubble on one of the tails about 3mm diameter. So, 6.5/10, because of the lacquer.

Set up
Setting up the deck was not as easy as some decks due to the hole being off, but, I got 7 out of 8 screws in, with some considerable effort required to screw in a few screws, which is not good for the screws or the baseplates. 6/10

Craftsmanship
The deck is really nicely rounded, the plies are nicely pressed together into a really nice shape, that is consistent throughout the whole of the deck. Although its a bit of a mellow shape, the shape was defined fully throughout the whole of the deck, unlike some decks from newer companies where the shape seems to be unevenly defined throughout the deck. It was definitely made very well, its a shame the odd rounding on one tail, the lacquer, and one hole being off, stopped it being perfect craftsmanship. 8/10

Performance
The deck was something I thought I'd take a long time to get used to, as I'm not used to any concave (I'm using a g12 as my main setup currently) and these decks are shorter than g12s too, they're around the length of a Berlinwood 09 mold. But, however, I got used to it fairly quickly and found it had a lot of pop, and I could do my tricks really easily on it. The concave and 30mm width give it a lot of control, which made all tricks a lot easier to catch and land, but without feeling too wide, as I'm sure some decks that have been made these days, like 34mm decks, could feel. Performance wise its a really nice, slightly mellow, but very fun shape, and for me performed as good as some top make decks I've tried, such as berlinwood and no comply. However, the lacquer did come off very quickly on rails, and was almost all gone in some areas in the week I've been using this deck to try it. It didn't affect performance though, just the look of the board. 8/10

Overall
These decks are very good, and if the few problems with them, such as the lacquer, holes, and very slight rounding problems, are fixed, then they'll be amazing decks, and definitely a strong contender in the cheap deck market. Costing $15 shipped for a 30mm wide custom, they're amazing decks, and well worth going for. I know the owner said hes working on all the problems that reviewers (he gave a few decks out to review to different people) have said, so, if they get resolved, I'd 100% recommend them. And even in their current state, for the price they're a really nice deck to use, maybe if you're looking for a cheap outdoor deck, or a deck to ride mini ramp/bowls on. My overall rating? 7/10.
