Review: Substance Quartz BRR 2010 Edition

I've wanted to do this review for a fairly long time, and now wanting to get some reviews on the site I've been motivated enough to do it, so, yea, lets start:

Substance Quartz BRR 2010 Edition Wheels:

Shipping:
They came in a nice bubble mailer, took around a week, which isn't bad France - UK. Got some nice stickers as well as the package, which is always nice. The package itself that they came in was a bag with a very professional cardboard header, looked really good.

First impressions:
Wow. Quite frankly the most beautiful wheel material I've ever seen.. I'd seen pictures and wanted some for a long time, but, I could never imagine how amazing they looked until I got them in my hands. They were perfectly shaped, even with these amazing TINY little grooves like you get on skateboard wheels. So realistic, its amazing the detail put into them.

Setup:
Putting them on my BRR trucks was simple, unscrew the wheels that were on there before (which took a while as I'd had to glue my old g7.1s on) and then put them on, screw them back up, and they were set! They fit perfectly and span really nice straight away, better than any wheel I'd used before.

Performance:
When I first tried them they were soo smooth to ride, a really nice feel to them that was hard enough to allow for nice powerslides and blunts and such, but smooth enough to give a nice control of the board, and to not make landings feel too hard. They also make a nice squeak noise on powerslides/blunts etc, which is really nice, it adds another element of realism to using them. I find myself riding along, doing a little powerslide just to enjoy the noise, and then popping a trick. Looks cool in videos too!

The bearings on them were soo fast, and have got faster and faster. Just tapping it, they roll perfectly and quickly across my table. I've used them inside and outside, they're on my main setup so they get used once a day at least, they're getting on for three months old, and, they're still perfect. Infact the bearings have gotten faster, now if you spin them they spin for 2+ seconds, sometimes 4 seconds! Also, even with outdoor use on some less than perfect surfaces, they've not worn down material at all and are still the exact same amazing shape they were when I got them. Nor have they got any dirt marks on them or anything like that.

Final thoughts:
I've not had a single problem with these wheels. They perform amazing, are a good price, and look nothing but beautiful. Especially in direct sunlight, if it was sunny now I'd take a picture but, well, you know British weather..

I'd really recommend buying some, or, any substance wheels for that matter. Personally the quartz is just the best material out and should be experienced by everyone!

You can get some if they are ever in stock again at the Substance Store, or, they're on sale right now at Flikfbs.
