Fat

Fat decks, that is.

(The last two pictures are 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 and 38 mm)
Redemption did a timeline of decks, from 1999, to 2012, check it out here. Whilst it was mainly a joke with the massive deck.. I think thats probably one of if not the widest deck ever made. Apparently on the side comparison picture its a 38mm, not a 40, but, nonetheless.. Thats just too wide, I think. I mean, I cant comment, I've never used a deck like that, and apparently it doesn't perform bad, but.. I think people are just trying to go wider to do something that hasn't been done, for the sake of being the 'first' to do it. I'm not suggesting Jordan from redemption did those for anything more than a joke, so, yea, but, I've seen lots of wide decks now.. 30mm is almost becoming slim to some people, which is crazy. I'm getting a 30mm frost soon, and I think that'll be plenty wide. 31mm would be tops. Dunno what I'd do with 7mm more than that. Not to mention that it takes two sheets of tape to grip anything over 30-35mm!

Its interesting, and, pretty funny that someone actually made a deck that wide, but, yea, lets stick to proper sizes shall we? I mean, 34 is definitely the biggest anyone should EVER go. That'd be like skating a 9 inch skateboard. Mind you, I've ridden a 10.5 inch skateboard, so, lets hope 38mm decks don't become a reality.. The day someone says to me 'what is that deck, a reg?' 'no, its a 30' will be a sad day for fingerboarding, haha.. :)
