Friends

Fingerboarding has always been a lot more friendly that skateboarding, so I've seen. Skateboarding is a really amazing friendly sport, but, I think the fact that fingerboarding is even less known and less accepted than skateboarding, if you find people who fingerboard, theres a really friendly atmosphere. Some forums seem to have a lot of arguments, but, most, are just really friendly people enjoying fingerboarding and having fun talking about it.

I never used to think you could make proper friends over the internet. But, I've been very much proven wrong. My friends on fbhq are amazing, theres no other word for it. As you'll see if you scroll down, I snapped my g12. Someone is trading a deck (which is funnily enough my old bw09 graphic they brought off me earlier this year) to another person, for a g12, and giving me the g12, for free. Free!
Its the friendliest place in the world, fbhq. Nicest people ever there. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and, its relaxed and fun. I love it there.

Fingerboarding doesn't happen on the internet, as we all know, but, its a great place to make friends. Then what do you do? Arrange meetups, or events, if you live in places that don't have many events. Theres a UK event in planning, nothing concrete yet, but, we're really trying. I'll probably have to sit on a bus for 8 hours to get to where it is, as I live in the very southern corner of the UK pretty much, but, its worth it. Fingerboarding is amazing. Fingerboarding with friends is amazing. Having a good time, spreading the word of fingerboarding, and possibly winning some prizes? How can you go wrong!

So, even if you live far away, make the effort to meet friends, and go have fun fingerboarding!

I mean, look at it this way. If I wouldn't have made the effort to travel 1200+ miles to meet my girlfriend in Sweden over a year ago, she wouldn't be moving in with me tomorrow! Travelling is fun, and will give you many many fun memories. And these days its not as expensive as you'd think, which is always good! So get to it! :)
